Grimsby Town Centre Check In
Grimsby Town centre is in the middle of significant change.
There's been a lot of work done in Grimsby Town Centre over the last few years, including the redesign of St James Square and the new Garth Lane Bridge and surrounding development of the waterfront.
And there’s more on the way, with plans being devised around the enhancement of Top Town Market and provision of the leisure facilities, changes to the Riverhead area coming forward, the potential purchase of Freshney Place and what that might mean, and the associated bid for funding for a transport hub in the town centre.
We regularly run surveys about the town centre, and it helps us keep a pulse on public opinion about the area. It's a space that is used by many people across the borough and your views are used to help us improve the physical environment through funding bids and develop strategies for reducing antisocial behaviour and designing out crime.
The Council and Humberside Police are looking for people who live, work and visit Grimsby Town Centre to give us their views about how the town centre feels at the moment
The last time we ran the survey in 2018, more than 1,200 people took part. Your responses were used to:
Understand how people feel about the town centre at the time
Work together with others to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
Improve community safety and resilience in the town centre
Improve the street scene and physical environment
Develop a vibrant offer which attracts and welcomes visitors
Since the last survey, we have experienced the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and we would like to ask the same questions again to see how your views and habits have changed and measure whether feelings towards Grimsby Town Centre are improving or not.
Survey closes 7 August 2022.
When thinking about Grimsby Town Center we would like you to consider the area between Frederick Ward Way (A1136) and the railway line.
